It has been quite some time since I wrote you all last. So much has happened and there has not been enough hours in a day to keep track of everything. Lets see what I can gather from the last month or so.
So many adventures.

“Hey, lets go to California. Lets go to Six Flags!”
So, we packed up some overnight clothes and headed out to California. Now, I have been on some rollercoasters before, but holy hot damn some of these could break you in half. Lets start with X2. Sounds fun right? Don’t get me wrong, it was a blast. But here is what happened on the way up the lift hill:
Me: So, judging by the way these seats are facing, it looks like we are gonna get dropped backwards, on our heads. That shouldn’t be too bad.
Liz: This is gonna be fun!
As this conversation is taking place it becomes apparent to me that we are not going to get dropped backwards. As it turns out, we go off the lift hill and are flipped around so that we are facing straight down. This was such a weird feeling because the seats were oriented in such a way that you were freely rotating as the ride progressed. (It’s hard to explain. Go to Magic Mountain in California and ride X2, it will all make much more sense.) We’re flying through this thing when all of the sudden… FIREBALL IN THE FACE. Case and point, Mike, Liz and myself get off the ride and we weren’t sure what the hell we were gonna do next. We did find this sort of “hidden gem” in the middle of the park. It was an old steel coaster called “Gold Rusher” (WOOOOO!). Mike and I were sitting in the same car and we thought, “Ok, old steel coaster that has been around forever, no big deal right?” Well…. We soon realized what was about to happen to which Mike let out a “HOLY JUSTIN ROBERT YOUNG!!!” as we flew down the first drop. The long and short of this ride, as we were coming around the final turns, and Mike starts singing the last few lines of the National Anthem…. it was a fun time. I could go on and on about how much the Superman coaster sounded like a fighter jet or how funny it was when we rode the wooden coaster both backwards and forwards and got these gems: “Oww…owww…owww… boobies!” or “It’s not done yet! We still have the bunny hops!” “I HATE BUNNY HOPS!” — It was one of the best days Liz and I and our friend Mike have had since we arrived. I don’t think this post can do it much justice.

I’ve never really won many things. Sure, I’ve had the occasional luck of winning a carnival game or some awesome stuff at Dave + Busters, but I have never really won a giveaway contest before. One Sunday afternoon Liz and I were relaxing at home and Mike was over. He and I were working on some magic related things when we find out that David Copperfield will be having a ticket giveaway contest that evening at 5pm. So of course we decide that we have to do this. As the time gets closer and we are getting ready to leave, we formulate a plan for the 3 of us to be in separate parts of the mall when the information is sent out via Twitter. We arrive at the mall in the center of Las Vegas about 25min before the info was to be sent out. We planned that I would stay on the lower level, Liz would take one side of the 2nd floor and Mike would take the other. We sit patiently on the bench waiting for the text to be sent. As we do this we recognize a few people standing several feet away from us. A few of David’s crew members happen to be waiting around. After realizing that we were probably going to win one of the sets of tickets they noticed us sitting there and came over. Long story short, we got tickets to that nights show. A few hours later after some dinner, we arrive at the theater to find out that we will be sitting in the front row. Now, in a normal theater the front row is usually about 10ft away from the stage. At the Hollywood Theater, which is set up like a dinner theater with tables and chairs, we are now sitting up against the stage. I could use the stage as an arm rest. It was pretty freaking incredible to be that close to some of the illusions and still not be able to see how they worked. At one point we were practically underneath one of the props, and still saw nothing. Amazing experience. After the show was over, because we had won the tickets in a Twitter contest, we were given the chance to have our picture taken with David (which due to poor lighting never made it out of the camera) and to participate in a card trick. So here I am, standing on stage at the Hollywood Theater at MGM Grand with my girlfriend and good friend Mike with David Copperfield who is now in the middle of performing a card trick for us and a few others. Needless to say this was one of the highlights of my life at this point in time. Im amazed that I was able to put it into words for this blog.

The above adventures combined with a few more magic shows and the acquisition of a job have made the last month and a half pretty swell. I am going to try and actually keep up with this thing on a regular basis (but we all know how often I have said that, and how well that has gone in the past.) with pictures, videos and more writings.
Thanks for reading.
Until next time….
